Biology Year 7 - Specialised Cells
Cells differ from each other so that they can do different things. Organisms are made up of tiny units called cells. Cells have an ability to control certain activities. The information is arranged in chromosomes made of a molecule called DNA. Bacteria are tiny, simple cells that do not have a proper structure.
Gametes

The Cell Wall and other parts of the cytoplasm
- They are transparent to let in light
- The oblong shape allows lots of cells to pack closely together so that the light is trapped
- They use the light to run the process of photosynthesis, where Carbon Dioxide + Water becomes Glucose + Oxygen
The Muscle Cell
- It is long to help it contract further
- It has proteins in the cytoplasm which can slide over each other
- There are lots of organelles to release the energy needed for contraction
