Biology Year 7 - Reproduction in Human Females
NOTE: We were also made aware of the Fallopian Funnel and Labia. All of the definitions and positions in the reproductive system are outlined below.
Ovary
This produces eggs every 28 days.
Fallopian Funnel
This catches the egg from the ovary. This is not shown on the diagram, and is right at the beginning of the oviduct.
Oviduct
Where the egg waits for the sperm - it is held here. The sperm and egg must meet here.
Vagina
Holds the penus in place.
Uterus and Uterus Lining
The Uterus (or womb) is where the foetus will grow. The Uterus Lining protects the foetus and can be found around the edge of the uterus.
Cervix
Ensures the foetus doesn't fall out of the uterus.
Labia
The Labia is around the edge of the vagina. It protects the vagina.
